Pawpaw season is quickly coming to a close. It’s time to savor one last pawpaw recipe before saying “goodbye,” at least until next year! This recipe is for Pawpaw Milkshakes! It’s a very simple, but delicious recipe. If the Pawpaw-Spicebush Lassi recipe I shared with you was easy, then this milkshake recipe is easy peasy! It only has three ingredients: pawpaw puree, milk and vanilla ice cream.
I found these pawpaws in the woods, they’re unfortunately the only wild ones I found this year! Cleaning pawpaws is messy, but totally worth it. Check out my Pawpaw-Spicebush Lassi recipe for instructions on how to process the pawpaw fruit. Once the puree is separated from the skin and seeds, all you have to do is whir it in a blender for pawpaw puree.
This batch of puree looked just like butterscotch pudding! Six pawpaws made 1/2 cup of pawpaw puree, just enough for two Pawpaw Milkshakes! This recipe makes a sweet and fruity milkshake with a tropical feel to it. I hope to find more pawpaws next year – there are so many recipes I want to try!
